PREGNANCY & PARENTING

While pregnancy may be one of the most exciting time in ones life, most pregnant parents admit to feeling nervous and stressed about what to expect and unsure of the best ways to prepare. Between the physical changes of your growing baby bump, raging hormones, and morning sickness (especially during the first trimester) this can leave you feeling increasingly overwhelmed. Sometimes pregnancy can also create a high level of anxiety or depression, which if left untreated may result in postpartum depression and anxiety.

No matter what you are experiencing, this is a very important time to work on yourself and your relationship. Being calm and confident when your baby arrives can get your family off to a great start.

Martine has experience in working with pregnant and new parents facing issues such as:

  • Postpartum depression and anxiety
  • Feeling overwhelmed
  • Returning to work vs. staying home
  • Your marriage and children
  • Choosing child care
  • Financial planning

FERTILITY & FAMILY PLANNING

Dreaming of starting a family can be an exciting time for individuals and couples. However, when trying to conceive does not go as smoothly as planned, and failed attempts or a medical diagnosis is given, this can impact you and your relationships causing you sadness, anxiety, and fear. Experiencing infertility often creates one of the most distressing life crises that a couple has ever experienced together.

Women may feel that their partner does not understand or support what they are going through, both emotionally and/or physically which can significantly impact their relationship.  Women can become so focused on having a child, that their partner may begin to feel they are no longer the priority in the relationship and may cause arguments and or tension.

It is common for women, to isolate themselves from family and/or friends because the thought of attending a baby shower or seeing another pregnancy announcement on Facebook is just too difficult. You may find yourself feeling overwhelmed with thoughts about becoming a Mother and feel anxious, depressed, or alone.

Martine will provide you with support, encouragement, and hope to work through this stressful and difficult time. She will help you process your concerns and the challenging decisions that often come up through the family planning time, as well as with the medical treatments that can be painful and intrusive.
